Home Game - Santa at the cash table

1 min read

On Saturday night during the home game, I did my best impression of Santa and gave most participants festive gifts. I managed to lose £1k in a £1/£1 game which is pretty impressive. Five 200 blind buy ins - sigh. I had a total lack of hole cards, but didn’t play too badly until I went about £600 down - however the last 2 buy ins were a total waste of time, and I played more and more aggressively and loosly till it was all gone. I’m starting to wonder whether I should play tournaments exclusively next year, in the same vein as Sir Mike - I’ll reassess in January.

Elsewhere at the home game, a mystery consignment of Fosters which was TWO YEARS out of date was discovered. Clearly the heavy drinkers hadn’t even noticed while guzzling down the mysterious rust flavoured alcohol, but Wilkinson discovered that his can “tasted like sh*t” and looked at the sell buy date. I am not 100% sure, but I think Jody brought said crate to my last home game, and kindly let me keep the extras after the event.

Also overheard at the game:
PlayerA: “My brother has got size 13 feet”
PlayerB: “Blimey - he must have a chopper like a baseball bat”

:)
