Four on the Bounce
Last night I registered my fourth consecutive live cash game win, to further repair my ailing start to 2009.
I have been playing very disciplined live cash recently and, since people are still expecting me to play pretty wild, I’m getting paid off. I noticed last night that Deven has picked up on the difference now though, so perhaps it’s time for a change in style again to exploit this new image.
Although I’ve calmed down a lot, it still didn’t prevent me pricing myself in to call an all in pre-flop with against a relative short stack. I was against AK so not a disaster, but neither of us caught anything. Nonetheless, I finished the session a little under £300 to the good, which is a pretty decent return in a 25p/50p game in about 5 hours of play. Dev was the other big winner on the night I think.
One complaint, is that for a while last night we were playing 9 handed Omaha which is a disaster. This pretty much involves people peddling the nuts, and is not much fun at all. Omaha in it’s purest form is a 4-6 handed game in my opinion.
I’ll play live again on Thursday I think, but after that I am off to Newcastle with Shazbo for a long weekend. Consequently, I should find time to play the Sunday majors online for the first time in a while, which will in all likelihood involve me doing the old pods for £1k+. There is a $500 buy in Million Guaranteed on Full Tilt which I plan to play, as well as the standard Sunday Million, Sunday Second Chance and Sunday Mulligan.
I’m playing pretty well at the moment, so this seems as good a time as ever to take a shot at them. Another big score would be a welcome boost to the bankroll.
