Hoodoo Broken

1 min read

Finally.

After spending the whole year so far, following up a winning session with a huge spewy vomit of cash onto the table, last night I strung together two winning sessions. Saturday’s £550 win was followed up by a £350 solid session in the smaller 25p/50p game at the LC. Dare I say I am now in a smidgen of form?

Any noteworthy hands? Not particularly, but for the record:

  • I suffered a mini beat early on as I got the Baron all in with inferior trips in Omaha, only for him to river a house
  • My micro full house held up against Shazbo’s trip aces all in on the turn - MY QJxx flopped 9TK for the nuts against Fluke’s set of Kings, we ended up all in and I held up again

The holdem hands were largely uneventful, and I just seemed to play solidly building my stack over the 5 hour session. In particular I played position well in the Holdem rounds.

Anyhow - tonight I will finally get round to a tournament as I am playing in the Sporting Index Invitational tournament, with a prize pool of 15k for the 64 runners. No idea what the standard will be like, but I’ll post a full tournament report tomorrow.
